When is it time to throw out the humidifier?

Over the winter, after DD was sick we stopped using the humidifier but never emptied the water.  Needless to say, when I opened it to clean it, there was black mold inside.  I washed it out and just left it to dry.  I'm trying to decide whether to bleach it and keep using it, or just to throw it out.  It's an expensive, good humidifier, but I can't see the insides of where the water flows through & there's no way to know if the mold is really gone inside. 

I don't want to be wasteful or spend money I don't need to, but honestly I feel like I should throw it out & buy a new one.  WWYD?

Trash it, don't take the chance.

I wouldn't use it.  I'd throw it out & buy another one when needed.  If you didn't get all the mold out you could make everyone so much sicker.   Take it as a lesson learned.  Clean it out & put it away right after you're done with it.

Throw it out and buy a new one.  I would buy a cheap one if I were you.  That's what I did, after buying 2 expensive ones and finding that they are much harder to clean and keep clean.  Now I have a basic Vicks humidifier and I'm happy with it.  Low-maintenance, low-cost, and it works just as well.
