How often do I need diaper rash creme?

I've recently read that CD babies need creme/ ointment with every diaper change- but this isn't something I've read before.

Today is our first day using the CDs and I don't have any CD safe creme.

What creme do you ladies and how often do you apply?

No they don't. I'd love to know where you found that information.

I only use it if she has a rash. And even then, only if it's a true rash vs a little redness where some airing out will suffice.

I use Aveeno. It's the safest of the non-safe creams. I apply when DD has a rash, and use fleece liners, or disposables if it's a really bad rash.

Ditto Dr. L.  I only use it if she has a rash.  I use CJs Butter at night when she will be in a wet diaper for an extended period of time.
