We are going to a cookout for the 4th and they always have a ton of food. There are probably 100 people that come and so basically every type of food is covered. Any ideas???
Any ideas for what? I think I might have missed the question.
Ridley Run 3.1 - 4/9/11 - 34:24 - 1st race evah!
Kelly Monaghan's 5K - 5/15/11 - 3rd Place in AG
Walk the Talk 5K - 5/18/11 - 31:12 PR
Ridley Run 3.1 - 4/14/12 - 1st race of the year, 32:45
1 large box (or two small boxes) Pistachio Pudding
1 large tub (or two small tubs) Cool Whip
1 bag mini marshmallows
1 can crushed pineapple
Thaw cool whip until it?s ?whip-able?.In a large serving dish mix all ingredients.Keep chilled until ready to go to the BBQ.
*this can be done with ANY flavor pudding, but I find the pistachio to be really yummy and it turns out to be a light green color.
Or a salad:
The Wayna?s Favorite Pasta Salad:
2 boxes multi colored rotini
1 pound of salami (cut in a thick chunk, from the deli counter)
1 pound of ham (same)
1 head broccoli
1 container cherry tomatoes
1 yellow bell pepper
A couple of carrots
1 pound motzarella cheese (large block)
2 bottles Italian dressing (I like zesty Italian) or your fave salad dressing (I?ve used creamy greek before and it?s really yummy)
Boil Pasta
Chop veggies, meat and cheese into bite sized pieces
Cool pasta
In a large serving bowl mix Pasta, veggies, meat and cheese
Pour 1 bottle of dressing over salad and mix well.
I usually chill it and wait to put the other bottle of dressing on until right before the BBQ, because the pasta will absorb some of the dressing while it?s chilling, so I put more on right before serving.
Or an appetizer:
Aunt Terrie?s Ham Rolls:
Sliced ham
Cream Cheese
Scallions
Spread cream cheese on a slice of ham
Lay whole scallion across ham
Roll ham up, around scallion
Slice into small discs
YUM!

For house gifts?
I've brought a pot of lavender to the last couple of things that required gifties. They loved it. I got mine at Trader Joe's for about $7.

I've only read a few posts so far, but I feel like I am in the twilight zone. I think she meant she needed ideas for food.
I think the salad is a good idea. Or a yummy appetizer (although I don't have an idea for a good one!).
