Dr. Karen Lee

Anyone see Dr. Lee at Presby Dallas. She diagonised me with PCOS a few years ago and now that I'm ready to conceive I will be going back to her practice. I just wanted to see if anyone else was using her to conceive and what your experience has been like with her so far? THANKS for any feed back.Smile

Re: Dr. Karen Lee

  • I have not seen her personally but based on a friend's experience, I would not go to her myself.  I know she is a very nice doctor and there is nothing "bad" about her - in fact my friend is very loyal to her b/c she likes her as a person so much - but just based on her experience, Dr. Lee is not as aggressive as she needs to be and has wasted alot of money and time and it is heartbreaking to watch.  Interview a few and see who has the best plan for you.

  • I saw Dr. Chantilis, her partner and we did IVF.  Obviously, I am happy.  I know of two other girls on here that went to see her and they were happy.  Just some unsolicited advice:  you can be as aggressive as you want to be.  I was 33 when I started trying so they knew I didn't have a lot of time.  Of course, after diagnosis, I knew IVF was our only option.  Good luck with whoever you choose.

  • I see Dr. Thomas in the same practice and have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Thomas.  I also have PCOS and I was pregnant within 4 months of seeing her...after 2 rounds of Clomid.  I do have a friend who goes to Dr. Lee and I can kind of see some of the same "non agressive" experience she is having.  I know my friend really likes Dr. Lee, but as far as a doctor...I'm not sure either way.  Maybe you can ask to see one of the other doctors in the office.

  • I see Dr. Lee and I would have to disagree about her not being aggressive enough.  In fact, she suggested a more aggressive approach than what I initially had been considering.  However, I was 35 at the time, had been trying for 2 years on my own and my eggs were not getting any younger.  But, being the patient, you should feel like you can request a more aggressive plan.  It's in their benefit as a clinic to help you get pregnant and have a live baby.  I did IVF with her and was succesful.  We're going back to her in September trying for no. 2.  A word on REs in general, they are not hand-holders and their bed-side manner might come off as cold or aloof, but all that I care about is can they get me pregnant.  I would highly suggest her.

Also, she is no longer at Presby Dallas, they moved their practice.

  • I totally second what you're saying about Dr. Mika Thomas.  She is awesome!  We got pregnant on our second round of clomid.  I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and we were trying to conceive for 4 months before we saw her (I am nearly 40 and my DH is 43)
