Attack of the J Names

So my DH has a aunt & uncle with 14 (yes 14) kids, 9 of them are their own, 5 are adopted. (The also have 3 foster kids living with them.. so 17 total. Crazy!)

Their 9 birth kids are:

Jill

Sam

Julianne

Jodi

Jenna

Joelle

JJ

Josie

Jamie

This is the order of age too.

My question.. why is "Sam" the only one without a J???

Obviously all their adopted/foster kids do not have J names... but he was the second born!

Anyways, just thought I'd share in case anyone is looking for J names

I'm surprised there are actually names not used by the Duggars on there!

Maybe they just really like J names?  The Duggars say they just happened to have liked the first 3 J names they picked out and then after that didn't want any future children to feel left out.  I always thought that was silly (though I'm sure they didn't expect to have 19 kids) but I guess after reading your post they have a point.

Are all of the J names girls?  Or, is JJ a boy?  Poor Sam, or should we all be happy for Sam that he broke the mold?

Maybe Sam was a family name or a name they really loved ? Either way my mom had 3 biological kids including me and we all have J names. My parents are foster parents and just adopted my 3rd brother 2 years ago and he also has a J name. She didn't want him to be left out of the loop. I see nothing wrong with the same letter names for siblings.
