I actually just read in my alumni magazine... a baby girl named Rivers. With an s..? Thought it was interesting.

Ok if the parents are a celebrity. If not, baby will be made fun of growing up. Also, professionally speaking, I would not take someone serious at work if their name was River June.

I actually kind of like it.  It reminds me slightly of the name Brooke, but a less common option.  I also like the combination of River June though I don't normally like two word names together.  While I probably wouldn't use it I certainly don't hate it.

I actually like the name River . . . maybe it's because I've always thought that River Phoenix was gorgeous. River June is a bit overkill, though.

I don't understand the random-nouns-for-names trend.  "I think waterfalls are pretty and majestic, so I'm going to name my daughter that!"  And the whole Denim, Diesel, Gauge, etc. are irritating too.  should I name my kid Machete so he can be super manly?

LOVE River! It was our #1 name for DD#2 for 3 years! I miss it sometimes...
