Does it eventually dissolve? I just bought a pack of snack containers from Green Sprout and it says "dishwasher safe, top rack up to 10 washings; hand wash for longer life."
What happens after 10 washings? It starts to thin out?
I came in because I thought you were talking about oobleck. If anyone is wondering, oobleck dries out like chalk in a baggie - as seen in my classroom this year:) I'm sure you could just add water to it though. I didn't even know they made dish stuff out of cornstarch.
I looked it up. Those dishes are cute! It looks like putting them in the dishwasher will break down the bonds that keep them together more quickly. So maybe not dissolve, but get holes, crack, etc. Like putting a plant in the dishwasher - doesn't last as long as plastic or glass.
my bff works for iplay/green sprouts. I'm pretty sure you should handwash those because they will start to break down. I think that's what makes them appealing; their ability to break down over time thus not ending up in a landfill.

We have a lot of "plastarch" disposables but I bought these as lunch containers for the kids because they look more permanent. Do you know if they will break down if I put liquids inside, like sauces? I bought them specifically for sauces b/c they are airtight (but not if they break down!).
