Ordinary names that you just hate

Do you have an ordinary name that you just can't stand? Mine is Tiffany. I especially hate it when it is shortened to "Tiff." If there had been a baby names forum in the 1980s, there would have been tons of threads of people looking for middle names for Tiffany and saying they would call their kid Tiff for short. I can't imagine it!

So sorry if your name is Tiffany. I am sure the vast majority of folks think it is a "hot girl" name, so don't worry too much about what I think.

Mine, and I hope this doesn't offend anyone, is Megan. I just hate it, I hate the way it sounds, I hate how common it was among my generation, I HATE Megan Fox, I just hate it.

I'm pretty "meh, whatever" about most names from my generation. I really dislike the names Robert and Jason, though, and I'm not sure why.

When my sister and I were toddlers, we got a two cats and named them Jason and Jamie. To this day, I still love the name Jamie, but whenever I hear the name Jason, I think of my Mom's weird cat. (And whenever I hear matchy names, I think, "that's what a three-year-old would name their kids.")

I can't think of many "ordinary" names that I dislike. I actually tend to gravitate toward names from my own generation, which seem to be the ones getting the label of ordinary in this post.

However, I hate the super popular old person names that are so hip now. Evelyn, Graham, Vivian, Henry, etc. Snooooze.

Anne - I like Anna but "Anne with an 'e" (sorry Anne of Green Gables fans - I love the books too) just bores me.

Martha - yeah, hasn't made a comeback yet.

Alex - Love Alexander but sadly, have never met an Alexander who didn't go by Alex.

I don't hate names. It's just some are not my taste. Like the following: 

Girls: Samantha, Wanda, Angela, Jessica, Elizabeth, Carrie, Sophie, Abigail, Hannah, Camila, Morgan, Katherine, Paige

Boys: Benjamin, Alexander, Jacob, Anthony, Mason, Liam, Dylan, Lucas, Colton

*Tobias isn't my style either, but DH & I made a sweet deal on baby names for our growing family. If I had my way, this baby would probably be named Gabriel James ;-)

Well, I happen to LOVE your son's name. My husbands name is Robert and while he goes by Rob now, all his friends growing up did and still do call him Robbie. I had such a crush on him from a distance before I met him and his name 'Robbie' gave him all the more charm to me!

I hated my name when I was younger because there was always two others in my classes, and I hated when it was spelt with F's or Y's or just I's.

I don't like Amanda because everyone I've met has been a total cow, same with Sarah's.

For boys names, I hate Bob, Bill, and Al. (I know they are nicknames, but they just rub me the wrong way)
