what shampoo does your 3-5 year old use?

We are still using baby shampoo for my 3 year old DD.  Are there any good toddler shampoos?  I'm guessing she is still too young to use my shampoos.

My 4 yo uses herbal essences totally twisted. I don't know if it's bad for it but it doesn't seem to be. She has beautiful soft curly hair that never tangles. I wash her hair daily and she has been using this for at leas 1.5 years.

  • I'm curious about this as well.  We still use the Mustela newborn foaming shampoo for my little one.  I bought some when she had cradle cap when she was a newborn and loved it so much I just kept buying it.  I use my Dove conditioner on her hair to help with tangles, and it seems to be fine.

I thought about switching to a 2-in-1 kind of thing, but don't know if it will condition enough because her hair is really long and I do *not* want to deal with tangles!

  • DD's scalp is really dry and she has very sensitive skin. We have been using Head and Shoulders since she was an infant.

  • Suave makes 2 in 1 shampoos that we use.  I also let her use mine from time to time.

  • We use Suave 2 in 1 shampoo.  Love the smell of her hair when it's washed.

  • We actually use adult shampoo.  He has horrible dandruff, so we use Head and Shoulders.  He knows to close his eyes, so I'm not really concerned about it.

  • DD has been using my shampoo for about 9 months if not longer. I use pantene. It is just easier on her long hair and no tangles.

  • Another vote for Suave 2-in-1 for kids :) DD has curly hair so I need something w/ conditioner in it...but she HATES having her hair washed and thrashes around and gets stuff in her face, so it has to be kid-stuff, sting-free for her eyes!

I do sometimes add my deep conditioner to her hair and then don't rinse it out all the way..

  • Whatever is on sale OR my shampoo & conditioner (if I need to go shopping). Right now she has L'Oreal Kids shampoo that smells like watermelon or strawberries and another that smells like melon.

  • We use Sauve 2 in 1's too! Love the scents :)
  • My 3 year old uses a Suave kids 2-1 and my 5 year old uses  adult shampoo and conditioner - she has curls and needs the extra conditioner.  I typically get Suave for her as well.

  • We also use Suave 2 in 1 for kids.  I needed something tear free for her because the adult shampoo stings her eyes.  I almost never need a detangler after.

  • We still use the baby shampoo.  Honestly, I never really thought about switching to a kids or even adults one.  I have a 4yo and a 16mo, and they usually bathe together.  They don't cooperate very well with lifting their heads, so it would at least need to be tear free.

  • I still use baby shampoo on my 6 year old boy and 18 month old girl.  I usually use the conditioning Johnsons & Johnsons on my 4 year old since she has long hair that tangles easily.  they still need the tear free stuff which is why we still use the j&j baby shampoos.
  • we use loreal swim shampoo

  • We use California Baby. I just started using the conditioner on her too, it works really well.
  • We use California Baby super sensitive shampoo and bodywash for both boys - the fewer chemicals, the better.
