In a perfect world I'd get a Phil & Teds and a Joovy Caboose (sit & stand style), but alas that is not the case. Now I have a used jogger for walking through the neighborhood and a Combi that I keep in the car for random use. I like having the one always in the car so I never worry about if I need it or not. I really like the design of Phil & Teds, it seems like the size of a single, but I'm wondering if it's still too big for taking out into stores (I have not taken one for a test drive yet). I'm just starting to shop around CL. For those of you that use a double, what/how many do you have?

Re: Double Stroller Question
I have the baby jogger city mini double, and I LOVE it. I just move it from car to car and such since I couldn't really justify getting more than one at that $$.
It's super light so moving it isn't a hastle at all.

Is it the side by side or the tandem? I just saw that they have a side by side, I'd definitely want to go the tandem route.
This is my plan, I can't imagine spending half of what my first car cost on a stroller. However we will (probably) have one more babe, so I want something that still has a few good years left. My $40 used jogger was the best baby gear purchase we've made :-)
If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a Sit and Stand and call it a day. While I used our Double Bob religiously for the first year and a half or so, it hasn't got much use in the last few months as rarely run with both boys anymore. Our single BOB stays in my car at all times and if need be, Ty can hop on the front.
We bought a double side by side and it was a MAJOR PITA. It was our travel stroller but it was so hard to manuever and Ty's feet constantly got stuck in the wheels. I hate that thing and never use it.
All in all, we bought far too many strollers. While each stroller served a purpose, only the single BOB has really withstood the test of time. I bought our used Sit and Stand on CL and sold it for the same price a few months later when I was done.

I waited until #2 was about 6 months before I bought a double. I figured that gave me more time to see if #1 was still really into the stroller and also if my stroller use changed at all with 2 kids instead of just one.
We've got a cheap Jeep umbrella stroller that I bought off CL and then a SBS Mountain Buggy Urban.
Both of my boys have been pretty big lovers of the stroller and it's really only recently that we've started talking neighborhood walks without it. My thoughts on getting the cheap umbrella was to have something for traveling (and now we've haven't flow since #2 was small enough for the carrier still) and to use at the Grandparents house ( I wanted something we could just leave there and it A. wouldn't take up space and B. I would care that I didn't have it at home).
I love, love, love our Mountain Buggy and for us a SBS was absolutely the way to go. I wanted to buy a P&T when we had our first and DH hated the way it pushed. My oldest is the type of kid that would have hated not being able to see his brother. He's big into making sure he's ok and now they chat and play. The love being together. Now we use our stroller pretty exclusively for long walks around the neighborhood, the farmers market and TJ's. For us the SBS was the perfect and the Mountain Buggy itself is an awesome, awesome stroller.
I have a P&T's Vibe and I love it. It folds up to be very compact. It also does well in stores. This was a big deal to me because I frequent the mall.
The one negative is the sun shade. It pops off constantly. Don't know if mine is defective, but I took it off. Now that summer is here, I really need to figure out how to keep the darn thing on.
I keep scouring CL for the Uppa Baby Vista - it's total capacity is 3 with a "skateboard" thing. Eventually we'll just need 2, but I like the option for the 3rd.
I have no real life experience with it, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
I wasnt a fan of the P&T tandem one either. So I ended up with the city mini & love it. It pushes very easily and relatively folds up small and easy. Its been a lifesaver.
