It appears my little guy is a super soaker. He wears pockets with a single MF insert now, which gets Very heavy and sopping wet. He's gone up to 4 hours in a dipe (I'm not waking the 2 week old!) but yesterday his outfit was wet and I changed him less than an hour earlier =( Usually he's changed every 2 hrs.
It seems like the wet incidents we've had are compression leaks- I don't sense any wetness at the seams and nothing's coming out the leg holes. It also seems to happen more when he's sitting like in his Rock N Play, rather than another position with less bum pressure.
So I went looking for an insert or doubler to help out our cause. My initial thought is hemp. Then I found Zorb II... wtf is Zorb and is it a good choice?
Right now for hemp I'm looking at the Babykicks/JoeyBunz, Thirsties 2-pack and Thirsties Stay-Dry Duo. Since the Duo has a MF component, could I just use that in the pocket, rather than stuffing with the standard MF and a hemp layer? Any recommendations for something else, or a favorite of those? Should I buy a couple of each and test, or is most hemp created equal?
Thanks in advance!
Re: Heavy wetter pocket help
The thirsties duo dry might work great for your little super soaker. I never tried them in a pocket but used them in covers before. Thirsties hemp inserts are not my favorite (not long enough for unsnapped pocket and long drying time) but I do layer them with mf inserts for night and they work great.
My all time favorite are the babykicks joey bunz. I use them on their own during the day and pair with mf at night. Good luck!
