I went to the party store today and I hated the pinata fillers. It was all hard candy and cheap toys. So far I have rings and little yoyos but do you put anything different in yours?
My kids are still pretty young and so are their friends. I don't give my kids hard candy or bubble gum so we usually do fruit snacks. It usually matched the theme, like we did Cars for one of the last b-day parties we had.
I agree with Jodi in that I hate the cheap little toys and they always end up in the trash.
Re: What do you put in pinatas?
candy candy and more candy
dum dums, bubble gum, skittles, starburst, mini chocolate bars -- whatever. chock full of candy!
Christmas 2011
FWIW, I hate tchochke (sp?) crap. I always just throw it away. All those little trinket things and party favors - ick!
(Yes, I feel strongly about this. LOL I just hate to see people waste their money on that stuff!)

Candy - tootsie rolls, tootsie pops, smarties, sweet tarts. (Basically whatever DS has proven to be able to eat)
Toys - sunglasses, sticker sheets, matchbox cars.
Misc - $1 bills, quarters, fruit snacks
