What do you put in pinatas?

I went to the party store today and I hated the pinata fillers.  It was all hard candy and cheap toys.  So far I have rings and little yoyos but do you put anything different in yours?

  • Ditto Jodi. What fun is a pinata w/out candy?! candy and a few toys. I'd buy the candy you like.

  • Im doing suckers, but because the kids invited are little, thats probably the only candy. I'm thinking fruit snacks, stickers, bubbles, etc.

  • FWIW, I hate tchochke (sp?) crap.  I always just throw it away.  All those little trinket things and party favors - ick!

(Yes, I feel strongly about this.  LOL  I just hate to see people waste their money on that stuff!)

  • My kids are still pretty young and so are their friends. I don't give my kids hard candy or bubble gum so we usually do fruit snacks. It usually matched the theme, like we did Cars for one of the last b-day parties we had.

I agree with Jodi in that I hate the cheap little toys and they always end up in the trash.

    Mommy to three adorable boys!
  • Just candy.

  • Candy - tootsie rolls, tootsie pops, smarties, sweet tarts. (Basically whatever DS has proven to be able to eat)

Toys - sunglasses, sticker sheets, matchbox cars.

Misc - $1 bills, quarters, fruit snacks
