OK ladies, I have to know . . . how do you make it stop?!?!? I am 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant. IWe are very excited and anxiously awaiting my appt on the 11th for the first ultra sound. My HCG numbers are doubling, I am very fortunate to be feeling great. Aside from the metal taste in my mouth I have very few symptoms and honestly I do not even care about that taste because I find it a relief to have the symptom hanging around. How do you concentrate on work and stop googling every baby topic you can think up? What do you tell yourself to reassure yourself that everything is OK and there is no reason to worry? I am clearly going to drive myself insane if I do not stop soon. I know this is the biggest news of our lives, but I still have work reports to finish and when nobody at works knows you are pregnant it is hard to explain why nothing is done

Someone told me during my first trimester that I would be "worrying" about this child for the next 18+ years. What you worry about is just constantly changing. As far as symptoms go, I did not really have any until I was about 8 weeks pregnant. I would recommend you keep as busy as you can to keep your mind off of things and avoid the internet/google, etc. That will just freak you out! Good luck!
Pretty much what the pp's said... you don't stop thinking about it, you just learn to live with it. Keeping yourself busy really helps.
But, you'll spend your pregnancy thinking about the baby, planning for the baby, getting ready for the baby, etc.. Once the baby gets here, you'll think about issues (there's always going to be "something"), planning activities, etc... That said, it's important to find a balance between being a mom and your own life. Dr. Google is a scary place, so try not to do too much of it... You do learn to focus on things that need to get done, but it takes some self discipline... So, get to those reports so you can go home, enjoy the holiday weekend, and maybe do some thinking and planning about the baby later?
