Today I went to lunch with my parents, and my grandparents. My grandparents live across the country so they've never met DS (that's a whole different story).
Lunch was a fiasco.
My mom took DS for a walk out in front of the restaurant because he was getting restless. All was fine and dandy until my grandma said she wanted to join them. After about 10 minutes I went out there to see my mom standing RIGHT NEXT to my grandma holding DS while my grandma was smoking. I flipped my sh!t, grabbed him, and told her that was completely unacceptable. Her reasoning why it's okay? "We were standing up wind." Ummm. Yeah.
Then, while at the table I ordered a side of pineapple and celery for DS so he could have a little to munch on. My mother was dipping his celery in ranch, which I wasn't really okay with. I wasn't the fact that he was eating ranch per se, but that fact that she was just giving him food without asking.
And, THEN I went to the bathroom and arrived back at the table just in time to see my dad giving DS a straw full of Pepsi. Seriously? WTF. He's NINE months, and does not need soda. Again, it just made me incredibly mad that they thought it was okay to keep giving DS stuff without asking.
After coming home, I plug my moms camera (which she is letting me borrow for the weekend because my P&S has disappeared) to download the pictures we took today. Well, there are about 30 pictures of my mom naked and drinking with my dad on there. Oh. My. God. So before I had to pluck my eyes out with a hot spoon... I deleted everything... including the four generation pictures we took today.
I need a nap.

Ugh, please say you can get those porn pics back!! They would make excellent holiday cards should your parents choose to act up again.
Sure, it's gross but they are sexual people too just like you and DH... how would you feel if one day your DS got ahold of some questionable photos?

That lunch just sounds like an all around mess. Definitely take a nap after that level of stress!

My grandparents came to visit when Cohen was 2 weeks old. They live across the country as well. My Gma smokes like a chimney and would come inside from smoking and kiss all over Cohen. I asked her nicely to wash her hands and change her shirt before she held him, and she chuckled but did as I asked. Then, a midst my baby blues/struggling with nursing/hormonal roller coaster, she woke him up while he was sleeping to "see those beautiful eyes" and he started screaming, and I just started sobbing. I yelled at her not to wake him up, not to touch him with her smokey hands, and stormed out crying. I apologized for the outburst.
My mom also feeds Cohen anything from her plate, and I always get pissed at her. It drives me crazy that she doesn't respect my parenting style.
As for the porno pics, I agree with PP's that it's nice that your parents are still happy and sexual. But your eyes... I can't imagine. I wish I could help you get rid of that mental scar.

He does! He's had it 3 or 4 times. I always just give him a stick of it, I don't cut it up... because it is stringy. He doesn't really get bites off of it... just gums it... and he loves it!
This what I thought too, I spit water on my computer when I read about the porn. There is something about old people doing and documenting it that is super funny to me. Too bad you didn't keep the pics for blackmail.
