Babies on the Brain

How the hell am I going to do this every day?

I was up at 6am, has us all fed, showered and out of the house at 10:30am and out for a few hours.  It was also the first time I'd had them both out.  How the fvck am I going to do this every day?  I know that bath time is at night and they won't be up while I am getting everything ready. I know that I'll have a bunch of stuff done the night before and that a sleepy Oisin is about 1000 times easier to get dressed than a wide awake Oisin.  And I know that I was the same way when Oisin was a baby and I ajdusted super easily.

Still, I am completely wiped and the thought of one more poop filled diaper with set me crazy.

  • How active is Gavin?  Is he a runner?  That's my biggest problem with Oisin, he takes off with no notice and thinks me chasing and yelling after him is a really fun game.  If he would stay with me, I would be way less terrifed.

  • The older #2 gets, the easier it is.  Promise.  It's just harder with 2 because well, it's 2 kids!!!  I used to dread the thought of leaving the house with both of the girls, now it's a walk in the park.  We go out almost every single day.  You will get into a routine and before you know it you will be a pro.
  • I have no real advice, but I think Vodka or Duct Tape might help. And a safety pin. McGyver always had 3 things.

YES. And he is freaking fast. I seriously think I will be one of "those" moms with the monkey backpack soon.

ETA: Oh and let's not forget what fantastic fun it is climb on everything in sight. And then jump off of it.

  • I was scared shiitless when I took DS and DD out for the first time by myself. I got lucky, DS doesnt mind being in the stroller (we have a double) and DD slept through the whole outing. Now I dont think twice about it, and I look forward to getting out of the house! Granted I dont live in NYC, I think that would make me a lot more nervous.

HAHAHA!!  They would get along famously.  All Oisin wants to do it run, jump and climb.  He is fast and is really a very good climber.

I have this.  It makes my life sooooo much easier.  Almost everytime we are out, someone asks me where I got it.  Also, the leash part can be unclipped and you can leave the harness on him.  I do that when we are at the park.

Yes, I do believe I will be purchasing that!

  • It gets easier. Or maybe you just go insane and get used to it. I'm not sure yet. So far, what I've found works best with Gabe is to keep a steady stream of conversation going to keep him focused on me. We talk about what we're about to do, how he's going to hold my hand, oh look a firetruck, anything I can think of to keep him engaged. Poor Isaac just hangs out in the carseat or the Ergo and checks things out, lol.
