I get asked this a lot...because I had a CS?
"so, you didn't want to have the boys naturally?"
Um, actually I wanted to. But with them so early, Kimo breeched, and Nick so high up I though he was in my chest...it's a little harder people. It was an emergency CS.
It makes me wonder. When people here the word CS, do they think we are taking the "easy" way out. It's not easy. it's tough and very scary. I have heard people say oh, I would much rather have a CS. It just baffles me.

You know, the closer I get to d-day the less I give a raging fvck about being "natural".
I think sometimes it depends on two things.
A) the number of aggressive naturalists who think that anything less than Mother Nature alone birthing your child is a sin. I feel like I'm seeing a lot more of this type of women (and a few men).
If you live in a place were you have a lot of money (NYC, and I'm assuming parts of CA) you do have a significant population of women who will have elective c-sections, early c-sections, so that they can get back in shape quicker, so it won't hurt, so the baby will be prettier for the newborn pictures, etc.
and then there's the publicity surrounding the high rate of sections, and how we need to get back to allowing birth to take place at it's own pace, which is a good conversation to have, but I think people forget that there are legitimate reasons for sections in the first place.
Sorry for the run-on, I need coffee.
What, no koi pond for you?
It's wolf pack or nothing.
back in shape quicker? who thinks that? It's surgery, you can't really do much for weeks and weeks after. And yeah, it doesn't hurt at the moment, but the incision hurts to cough or laugh or sneeze for weeks after

Oy. Don't get me started. I had a woman tell me there was no way she was going through labor because she didn't want to look "nasty". I was bringing her and her sister up to L&D from the ER. Except it wasn't her sister, it was the Nanny. So the Nanny could be there in the hospital with them to take care of the baby.
if someone said that to me, OMG I'd be shooting daggers out of my eyes while telling them about my 31 hours of labor. Grrrrrr

Well, first born was delivered via emergency c-section, I didn't really have a choice with him. And with Button, I didn't like the possible risks involved with a VBAC. I was high-risk enough. So I had a c-section with him. It was nobody's business but mine, my husband and my doctor. I really don't care what other people think. Both boys are healthy and I'm healthy. That's all that matters.
DH's nephew tried to start something on FB after Button was born about the baby being ripped from my womb. DH had to set him straight!
