Babies on the Brain

Holy FVCK!

There are men hanging in the trees outside our windows. With CHAINSAWS. At 8 o'clock in the farking morning! REALLY??! THIS IS WHEN THE TREES NEED TO BE TRIMMED? DISPLEASED.DOES.NOT.COVERIT.

M WAS still asleep and now she is VERY grumpy to miss her last 30 minutes before getting in the car for a 6 hour drive. There would be heads rolling if Natalie were here. ON.THE.GROUND.ROLLING.

::FUMES::

Edit - apparently this is my new unpopular opinion, however that does nothing to change my mind. Our regular maintenance is never started until at least 10 in the morning and we have always been given notice in the past when it would involve tree trimming/chainsaws. Perhaps other HOAs or management groups do not do this, but it is the standard with our building. Since this goes completely against the practice of the last 6 years I maintain my right to be more than pissed.

Re: Holy FVCK!

  • Um 8 is normal business hours. If you would have said 4 am I would agree.

  • Yeah, we have lawn maintenance dudes that show up at 8am here too. Drives me crazy, but luckily, my kid wakes up by 7am, so we're okay.

    But yeah, I'd be pissed too.

    Batman likes to watch cartoons on the weekends. Whatever.

  • yeah, I'm with MW on this one. Our HOA does this too. Even on weekends. It's doubly sucky because I work nights, and have no a/c so the windows have to be open.

    Doesn't make me hate them any less though, haha.

    I'm going to disagree with you on this, and strongly. If our apartment manager can't manage to get her ass in her office until 10am, then that's when the work crew can start. Hell, even if it were 9 I wouldn't be complaining. Hell, even if he were using the tree saws/trimmers I wouldn't throw a fuss. But CHAINSAWS are uncalled for when the branches you're taking off are 2" or less in diameter.

    Also, some NOTICE from management would have been nice. And again, if it had been given, not a problem. But to walk up to your bedroom window in a towel and see a man with a chainsaw hanging there is more than I think I should have to accept.

  • 6-7 am and I would agree with you but 8 on a weekday seems okay in my mind. I think 9am on weekends is the earliest they should start stuff like that though.

  • When I lived in an apt, they started at 7am.  It sucked.  However, it is REALLY hot here (over 100) and the early part of the day is the safest for them to be doing manual labor outside.

  • Sorry, I think 8 is more than reasonable. Noise-generating work is allowed to start at 7 here.

    Still overreacting.  You should keep your window closed when walking around in a towel to begin with.  Lawn work is typically done before or after the heat of the day.  If there were several trees chainsaws would be the quickest and most effective way to get the job done.
