DD1 is almost 3. She shows a lot of interest in the potty, knows when she needs to pee/poop, and gets excited about her panties being dry. I remind her often to tell me if she needs to use the potty and her answer is always "Not yet". If I bribe her ("Let's go to the potty so you can get a sticker!" etc.) to sit on the potty, she'll pee every time, so I know she can control it. She's also super excited about it.
The issue...If I can't get her to sit on the potty, she'll pee a tiny bit in her panties. She'll tell me her panties are wet but then refuses to sit on the potty. She just keeps saying "No! It's yucky! No! I don't want to sit on the potty!". I put clean panties on her and she'll keep holding it until a little bit more comes out.
Is she not ready? She's a very "spirited" child, so I knew this would be a problem before we started. I just don't know how to fix it.

Thanks. I definitely agree that the harder we push, the harder she'll push back. I'm just concerned that this will always be a problem because of her personality and we'll encounter the same resistance if we wait a week, a month, or a year.
She's using a potty ring. I've tried a potty chair as well and that had the same response. She'll also just sit on the toilet without the ring, but only when she wants to.
