Thirsties Duo Wrap on a newborn?

Will the Thirsties Duo Wrap cover (size 1) fit a newborn? I'm contemplating using them w/ prefolds and wonder if they'll fit our little guy immediately. I think they're advertised as fitting babies as little as 6lbs, but I just wondered if anyone had any first-hand experience.

My dd was 6 lbs when I brought her home and while the cover fit ok, it rubbed her cord stump and made it bleed so we stay away from them until she lost her stump.

They were fine for us over the stump. LO was 7 lb 12 oz at birth.

We waited until the cord fell off, but once it did the Duos fit really well. They size down pretty small. DS was almost 9lbs, though, so we only used the smallest size setting until he was 3 weeks old before we had to size it up. He also has a long torso, so that may be a factor. I bought some used NB prowrap covers from Jillian's until the cord came off.

They did not work for us without leaking until our LO was around 5-6wks.  She was 6 lbs 14 oz and 20.5 in at birth.  They were too wide between her legs and caused gapping.  The rise was okay, just the width that was off.  We had much better luck with the thirsties xs and bummis nb superbrites.
