How long does your LO take to eat?

My DD will sit in her booster seat and eat for an hour usually! I have to admit we have the TV on in the background sometimes but even if we dont she will sit and play with her food or eat slowly. I am kinda thankful for this since I can get things done while she's in there but just wondering if anyone else's LO does this?

  • DS will take an hour if we let him (no tv). He chats, eats, chats, eats. I try not to rush him, but at the same time dont want him to be the kid in school that never eats b/c he is used to having an hour.

  • We give him a 1/2 hour, if he is more interested in running around and playing...but still take a nibble...we take up the food after the half an hour is up.

When he's hungry, he will sit and eat, remaining focused.

We do not keep the TV on, nor do we allow him to bring 10,000 toys to the table.

  • He takes about 30mins for a meal.  If the TV is on he takes longer b/c his attention is divided, but that also can work in my favor if I'm offering him something new.  He's more likely to eat the new food if he's distracted my something else.
