Cloth Diapering

Tried a GroVia AIO for the first time tonight and....

I'm not conviced I like it.  I loved the fit and how trim it was.  Problem was, DD had a massive poop (as always happens first time in a new diaper).  It was so difficult to clean up!  DH had to do it b/c of my morning sickness and smell aversions.  He said it was the worst diaper he's ever had to clean.  The poo was stuck b/w all the layers and impossible to get off since the soakers weren't anchored on both ends.  He much prefers all our other diapers.  Any suggestions on cleaning poo off these things?

  • I agree that they are harder to clean... and they stain easily too.  They are so trim though!  Sometimes I love them, sometimes I hate them, so I am not getting rid of them yet.  I have quite a few and I am hoping that they will be helpful in PLing DD because they are not "stay dry."

Sorry I don't really have any helpful suggestions!

  • I use an extra cotton soaker with them as those wash well and it keeps the poop off the AIO inner. Makes cleaning easier and prevents stains.

  • Are you using any kind of liners -either flushable or fleece?  We use GroVia as our main diaper - AIOs & AI2s - for during the day.  We use fleece liners, so the majority of the poop is caught on that and then we just swirl that.  Any remaining poop gets either sprayed off or swished off, if it's being done right away.

They do stay easily, like PP said, but they are still my favorite diapers!

  • thanks!  I'll definitely have to use my liners with them from here out.
