Fluttering question, how long does yours last?

Hello everyone!  I have had an exciting day and had a few questions about what i"m feeling.

I have been feeling what I think is fluttering (or quickening) all day long.  It is the firest time I've felt it (I'm just about 15 weeks), and it's blowing my mind!  I've had a smile from ear to ear all day.

My question is, how long does it last for most people?  Mine is lasting sometimes 40 minutes at a time.  It feels almost like an internal vibration, or like someone is blowing bubbles through a juice box straw pretty quickly.  I felt it first when I was talking to a customer today (I do sales), and it continued for the whole meeting.  It happened again during a pedicure, and now at home.

It's very low down below my belly button and has mostly been in the middle (though it just went a bit to the right).

I would appreciate any stories you have to share.  Thank you!  I'm so excited for all of us!

  • Holy cow, 40 minutes! Mine last about 30 seconds at a time.

  • I know, that seems a bit nutty doesn't it?  I did a little research, but haven't found how long it can last...  Since this is the first day I've felt it, I was a bit surprised at how long it lasted.  Maybe I have an olympic swimmer in there!

I do feel LO multiple times an hour, but there are always distinct moments when I feel nothing.

Same here.  OP, are the flutter movements constant? If it is I'm guessing it's not the baby.  If it occurs off and on for 40 minutes that would make more since to me.  Of course it's your body and you're the mommy so I'm sure you know what is baby and what's not.

It will happen for about 5 minutes, then a little break, then it will start up again. This happens for about 45 minutes.  It goes on and off for a long time.  I started feeling it around 12:30 today and it's been happening off and on for about 5 hours.  Just stopped now.  I do think it is the baby because I've never felt this in my life, but I guess only time will tell.  We'll see how much more it happens.  So exciting!  Thanks everyone for the feedback.
