Do you find that using pre-seed makes it more difficult for you to track your CM pattern?  

I'm considering picking up a tube at the grocery store this afternoon. I'm only on my 2nd cycle TTC and still trying to figure out this whole CM business.  

Last month when I O'd I had 2 days of a fair amount of EWCM.  Have had just a little for 2 days now, mostly watery CM and not a ton of that, and I think I'm gearing up for O based on CP and CM so far.  I want to give those swimmers the best chance possible to get to the finish line but I also want to continue to improve my understanding of my own CM pattern.

Thoughts?

I don't have good cm and therefore I do not track it, so no preseed does not effect my cm....

 For you I would suggest still tracking your cm and use preseed if you feel it necessary. Possible check prior to having sex and mark your best.

I used pre-seed this month, but frankly, I found it more difficult to track CM after sex, in general. I mean, it's all...you know...icky the next day anyway. How the heck do you know what's what?

I think I messed up my CM tracking because of it. I guess next time around I'll know better?

I use it on DH externally only, he felt that when I used it internally that it was harder to get the job done because it was so slippery that he had less sensation.  Use it sparingly and good luck.  Yes, tarcking CM is tougher.

Totally agree! If you follow the directions on the box, and use the amount suggested internally, I think you'd be dripping for days after. A little goes a long way.

Seriously. A very little goes a long way.  

Also, as long as you don't use the recommended amount, if you're having sex in the evening, I don't find it any "messier" the next morning than just regular sex.

Awesome.  Thank you ladies!  I think I will pick up a tube and use just the tiniest bit tonight when we BD  I appreciate the responses.

I would say that if you've got a decent amount of EWCM already, you don't really need Preseed. You can use a little bit externally if you want to, but if you already have good CM, you definitely don't need to use an amount that would throw off tracking your CM. GL!

This is what I was going to say. Preseed does NOT help the swimmers get anywhere. This is a common misconception. It is just a sperm-safe lube to make having intercourse easier if you happen to be lacking in fertile CM of your own.

I just started using preseed this cycle and I only used it during my fertile window. I'd already noted the presence of EWCM so I knew where I was in my cycle. I just decided to experiment with it after noting the number of BFP posters who reported using it.

Oh thank you! I bought some a few days ago and haven't used it yet, I'm so glad to know I don't need to use what is suggested on the box, I thought it seemed like a lot. Externally and sparingly sounds much better, for both of us...
