NBR: Need recommendations for granite countertops

My mom and dad are planning an overhaul of their West Chester kitchen. My mom wants to put down granite and do a tile backsplash. However, the price quotes she's receiving are SO different-- literally thousands of dollars different-- for installation, etc. Some people have told her it will be a quick, easy job, and another man said it would be so time-intensive to do the backsplash that he recommended that she pick a different tile altogether. She's pretty frustrated.

Can anyone recommend a trustworthy company or handyman who has installed granite or done a backsplash (or both?).

We used Ohio Tile to get our granite and tile for backsplash.  They helped us lay out the tile design and then recommended a contractor to install it all for us.  DH used to do computer jobs for the owners (who I believe also live in West Chester btw) so we got contractor pricing but even at retail the prices were competitive.
