VBAC

Vbac question

Ok i am new to this I am a mother of 2 with one on the way, we just found out. I am wanting to have this one natural, my first two was by c-section.  When I had my DD 9 years ago they had to do a c-section because i had preclampsia, and she only weighed 6# 2oz. With my DS i wanted to have him natural but the doctor said because I had my daughter by c-section and was probably because she was to big there would be no way that I could have my son natural, he weighed 8# 15oz. I guess my question is even after 2 c-section would it be possible to even consider a natural birth, any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Vbac question

  • It is still a possibility.  Most vbac supportive Drs consider a vba2c as safe as a vba1c.

  • Yes, absolutely!  There are many many women who have had VBA2C.

    Best of luck to you!

  • You absolutely can!  Find a good support team, midwives etc. and educate yourself on all of the risks and benefits!  If you have any questions feel free to ask!
  • Thank you all so much I don't have my first appointment til 8-19 and plan to ask them then.

  • Have you checked in with ican to see if you can find a local provider who supports vba2c? (https://ican-online.org/chapter/search) You might need to change providers or hospitals to find a provider who will work with you. Remember, you will not change your doc's mind/philosophy. Find one who already shares yours.
  • Thanks alot I checked it out but the closest one to me is close to 3 hours away.  The small town where I live the closest hospital that even does deliverys is almost an hour away. Am hoping they will be willing to participate.
