I just discovered, after making mini pizzas for me and the kids, that there was a bit of mold on the inside lid of the pasta sauce jar (was opened and then refrigerated). Crap!!! Would you eat them? Will the oven kill anything in the sauce? I did visually inspect the sauce and didn't see any, but then looked on the lid when I was closing it up after making them and noticed it on the lid.
What should I do? I'm baking them at 425 for 5-10 min.
Re: Cr*p - a bit of mold in pasta sauce... wwyd?
Thanks. Yeah I tossed them. What a waste of food, makes me so mad! I usually have pasta sauce stocked up in the pantry but don't for some reason. I used the two flatbreads I had and made new pizzas without sauce... more like an Italian quesadilla but the kids ate them.

Sounds like us. I would toss them, DH would likely pretend he didn't see the mold.
