Moving Friday

I'm so excited we are moving to the Oakhurst/Kirkwood/East Lake area on Friday.  Of course my husband is working out of town this week and I have had to pack, get our house ready for our new rentor, and of course take care of 2 kids by myself.  I keep reminding myself it will all be over soon and we will all be so much happier with more room and an actual yard.  If anyone has any good moving tips with kids, especially around how to make sure they adjust to the new house please share.

When we moved Mom took the kids for the weekend.  It took P a while to adjust to the new house and her new bedroom and all but now she is OK.  I think time and making sure all their "stuff" is in their room is key.  Also, blackout curtains.

Thanks!  Mom is taking Adam and I am going to have all his stuff in his room before she brings him down to see the house.  It's funny becuase since we are used to living in the city where its very light I was thinking I may need a night light instead of blackout curtains.  I'm afraid Adam is not used to it actually being dark when you go to sleep.

our biggest thing was having the kids room set up first with all of their toys.  That's all they really care about.  They will adjust quickly. Welcome to the hood!! (we live in Oakhurst and love it!!)

we live in that area too!  We are technically east lake but I always tell people we live in the east lake/kirkwood/oakhurst area!  how funny!  anyway, there are a few of us in the hood.  good luck with the move!  we should set up a hood playdate!

There is a Kirkwood playgroup that meets every Thursday, too, that is a lot of fun.

Fun.  It looks like there will be lots of fun people to hang out with in our new neighborhood.  I will make sure I go ahead and get the toy area set up first.
