How much Follistim did you take for IVF?

I just read a post below where someone was only on 75...I'll be taking 300, plus 150 of Luveris and 5 of Lupron. Does that sound like a crazy lot? I don't care as long as it works...I had a crappy response to my first Menopur/Bravelle IVF.

Also, when I went in for my check today (I've been on Lupron for 12 days) RE said I had about 7 unmeasurable follies that will start to grow once I start stims. Is that normal?

I started IVF #1 at 300 follistim a day and moved to 450 a day plus 150 menopur.  This round I started at 450 gonal-f and 150 menopur.

 That sounds good.  It sounds like you are supressed and once you start stims you should see a bunch over 10 by day 5 or 6 of stims.

yep, I also took 300 of follistim + menopur and only 2.5 lupron!

I am doing my first IVF....I am on 450 units of follistim and 5 units of lupron....I have been taking 10 units of lupron for 14 days now....in 5 days I am to add 150 units of menupor.  I think mine seems crazy high.  I had my baseline yesterday and the nurse said my lining was great and I had no cysts.  They called and said my E2 levels were good and I was to start the follistim at my prescribed dose according to my schedule.  I am trying to trust the doctor's office.  I go in monday to see what is cooking.  At my baseline I saw nothing on one side and I think 3-4 small follies on the other side....but the nurse didn't even say anything about them.....

I've never heard of 75 unless they were also taking additional stims. I was on 150 and that's because my doctor was super conservative because they were avoiding OHSS. I wouldn't take every post on this board at face value...at least not for the last couple days.

I was on 150iu of Follistim. I responded quickly and very well to Follistim for IUI's so they had me on a lower dose. The lower dose worked just fine for me. We had 14 eggs retrieved which is what my RE airms for. I've heard of people being on as much as 475iu.

I will be on 150 of follistim and 150 menopur.

I was on the same dose as you but with gonal f/repronex. I am slightly older then the majority of people here and do not produce many follicles so I am assuming that is where the difference lies.  I had 13 follicles before stims, but only wound up with 5 eggs retrieved.

My old Re's had me on 450 of follistim.  This new one had me on 100 before, but said I was over-stimulating.

He now only has me on 75.  He doesn't believe in overstimulating, so that's why it's so low.  I don't have any problems in O'ing, so I guess that's why.

I have taken 450 a day for every one of my cycles and taking 600 (!!!) iu a day on this one.

Thanks! I've never taken Follistim before so I just wanted to get it into perspective. I'm also nervous about using that pen...I've only ever used regular syringes!

..DH likes playing doctor so he does it for me...said it's alot easier with the pen - no guessing...GL!

?I haven't started stimming yet but I think my RE nurse said I would start out with 300IU twice a day.? Seems like a lot.? I'm using Lupron right now & will also be adding in low dose HCG at some point.? I am praying it all works.? I don't want OHSS.
