I want to buy extra inserts, but prices and types are confusing me... are BG inserts good enough to be used exclusively except maybe a few hemp as well? I read and read and read about inserts and doublers but my brain just doesn't "get" any of it, and there's SO many I can barely recognize any of them or good used prices.
Re: What inserts do you use the most?
Most of our diapers are FB OS and BG 3.0s. I found that we outgrew the absorbency of the included inserts by about 10 months. Now, all my daytime BGs are stuffed with Blueberry OS combo inserts. My FB OS get medium Loopy-Dos plus a doubler of some kind (I have some me-made hemp jersey ones, some GMD hemp fleece ones, and the cotton ones that came with my Grobabys).
Really there are three important things to know about doublers. 1) What fabric are they? 2) How many layers? 3) What's the construction?
1 and 2 will determine the absorbency, and 3 determines how quickly they dry or are customized. Lots of women on here swear by AFFF inserts. I have some and they are nice - we use them at night - but they're just hemp fleece inserts. What sets them apart is the way they are made - one long insert of two layers that you can fold however you want.
