dry diaper after 8 hours!?!

Linus just woke up to eat after sleeping almost 8 he's. I went to change his diaper and its bone dry... yellow indicator line. He's gone 5 hours before and pees pretty much nonstop during the day usually. Would you call the Pediatrician now or wait a little to see if he pees? His 2 month appt is Fri. He's still 1/2 asleep so its hard to tell how he's acting. ...woops. he just peed an it didn't seem like it bothered him

Newborns should have at least 6 wet diapers a day. Keep track of his output today. If it's less, call. Any more and you should be fine.

They say if a child doesn't have a wet diaper in 10-12 hours to call.  But if you are worried, it is better to be safe than sorry and your son is only 2 months old.

My son is 2 years old and recently became dehydrated due to a surgery he had, it doesn't take long for a child to rapidly decline from it and it is scary.  Our drive to the ER was the scariest moment we have had with him.

My lo often wakes up dry after a long sleep if she's really out of it.  Usually the first diaper of the day ends up weighing 3 lbs and she makes up for it afterward.

My lo, too.  I'd call your pedi if you're worried, but my lo definitely makes up for a dry night diaper with a lot of wet ones during the day.
