You stagger up for the 5th time in a night to deal with your fussy baby, and while you're up, you decide to touch your other LO's neck to check his temperature. It's a dark room, so you feel your way by running your hand along his back and down his bottom...then have a brief moment of OMG MY BABY'S HEAD IS GONE panic before you realize that you're feeling the wrong end.
I may need more sleep.
Re: you know you need more sleep when...
you think?
You might want to skip anything extra after putting them down one night - do whatever you NEED to do for the next day, and just put yourself to bed as soon as you can.
LB is having night terrors and was up almost every hr overnight all weekend long, so last night after he fell asleep, I let myself do the same. He was only up about 3 times last night! YAY! Amazing what 11 hours of sleep will do to refresh you!
There's nothing like mommy sleep deprivation!

stargirl, I totally started laughing once I realized what I was doing - I had to leave the room so I wouldn't wake them up.
This is good advice...I think I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that I can't do it all and maybe for now the minimum will have to do. That particular night I was worse than normal because Will had been so fussy (which is unusual for him), but it probably wouldn't hurt me to get more sleep in general - especially since I've been sick lately.
haha, you made me smile
i would definitely try to keep things to a minimum while you are doing things on your own, esp if you are under the weather
