Do you eat at the dinner table with the family every night?
We DO eat together every night. But I am sad to say its around the coffee table.
I give you credit for admitting it I think many people don't admit they do that. Yes, we too sit too much around the coffee table. I don't think it's the end of the world at all. To me the important part is that you are eating together, which you are. That puts you above most of the population. Our dining area is just too small and uncomfortable to sit there every day. Actually, we spend about 30 percent of our meals at restaurant tables
M-F we do. I'll admit we didn't until we suddenly had 3 kids eating our food. It was too much chaos to try and eat in the living room. It was a hard habit to start but now it pretty nice.
Oh and BTW, how you doing?
Mom to Harmon 1/17/08 and twins Rachel & Callum 8/28/09
I didn't reply to your post below, but yes, we do eat at the table together every night. In fact, the girls eat each meal and their snacks at the table. It's one of my house rules - food only at the table! However, our table is in our one great big family/dining/kitchen area so they often watch tv during a meal. Also, to your post below, it varies: DH and I eat pretty low-carb but I try to combine meals. For instance, tonight I am having grilled chicken greek salad and they are having grilled chicken, cucumbers and tomatoes and will probably have fruit salad and yogurt for dessert. Sometimes I'll make them a side of toast, rice, etc...
ETA: If you're having a hard time getting her to try new things, try having her help you make dinner. I do this with DD and she LOVES it - she takes great pride in helping and is a lot more open to trying the things she helped with.
Dinner table for us too. It started when the twins were little and were in their high chairs. There is NO way we could have eaten anywhere else without gigantic messes. We've kept it up since then.
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!
DS#2 - Allergic to Cashew, Pistachio, Kiwi
DS#3 - Allergic to Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nuts and Sesame
Mine are not allowed to eat any where else in the house except the occasional pop corn on movie night.
Our house would be a disaster if I let them roam and graze.
Even DH and I don't really eat away from the table aside from the occasional snack during a movie.
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
