I was talking with one of my very close friends who is due with her baby in November. She knows we are TTC but we never really got in depth about it. Well today we were talking online and I told her how frustrated I have been about not being pregnant yet and instead of that stupid "just relax, it will happen when it's meant to" line, she told me she understood completely and I found out it took them 12 months of trying to get pregnant with their baby. I even told her about temping and charting and she completely backed me up on it and said she used OPKs and stuff while TTC. Then we talked about ideal family plans (ie how many kids, how far apart while being realistic that mother nature will give us what she wants when she wants us to have it). We laughed and shared stories about all those unintentionally rude people in our lives who think the best possible advice is "relax"
It seems very simple but after a weekend full of being told me and my husband need to get pregnant and hearing about how we're gonna be "next" and having to flat out lie to family asking if we're trying (because I know better than to tell them we are...) it was a conversation I needed more than I realized. I wish I could have hugged her through the computer and I don't even think she knows how much our conversation made my day...
Also, it appears the bump home page has changed. I sure hope it's permanent so it stops counting down the days until my imaginary baby is born even though I never told it I was ever pregnant... lol.
Re: Very refreshing conversation
It is so great to talk to people who understand! I do HATE it when people say just relax and let it happen! grr!
