YAY for summer and actually being able to READ again! I just devoured the Hunger Games series, and I have the second book in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series waiting for me. I could use something a little lighter (i.e., less likely to give me nightmares). I like just about anything fiction. Any newish (within the last two years) recs? TIA!
My Favorite Books

Books read in 2012: 58!
Re: Whatcha Reading?
I think these are older and one an autobiography, but this is what I have just read. All I would recommend to people, but I also tend to like historical fiction. The Nazi Officer's Wife is an autobiography, but it reads like fiction.
1. The Diary of Mattie Spencer (Sandra Dallas)
2. Day after Night (Anita Diamant)
3. The Nazi Officer's Wife (Edith Hahn Beer)
I read Room last weekend. It is by Emma Donogue. Really good.
I also read Annabel by Kathleen Winter. Amazing.
Not light but my follow ups to HG were The Maze and Divergent. Both YA and kinda HG-ish.
Also not light but "If I Stay" and now the sequel "Where She Went"
On order from the Library:
Memoirs of a Geisha
Game of Thrones (huge raves about this one on the book board)
Name of the Wind (Harry Potter-ish apparently)

Did you read Outlander? I initially thought I didnt want to read the Lord John books after it but I read the first one this week and liked it. I also just read the first book in Charlaine Harris's new series Aurora Teagarden - the book is Real Murders and I liked it a lot, like I did when I first started reading the Sookie series which then went downhill.
Have you read Janet Evanovich's numbers series? They are fun reads that will literally make you laugh out loud. The first one is One for the Money.

I LOVE her books! Something Borrowed and Something Blue are my favorites. I don't think I have read her newest one...thanks for the reminder!
Thanks for the great recs, ladies! I ran to the library and just borrowed a few on the shelf -- a Chelsea Handler one I haven't read (Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang) and one by Jennifer Weiner -- Fly Away Home. I'm requesting a bunch of your recs through interlibrary loan right now. I'm trying to get back into reading so that I can be worthy of a kindle come Christmas time.
Yes, I LOVE Outlander (OMG -- Jamie? SWOON). But, it has been so long that I think I need to start the series over to pick it up again. I read the first book in the Sookie series, then lost interest (love the show, though). I'll give Real Murders a try. I've also read One for the Money, but I didn't read any after that. I should pick that series up again, too. Thanks for all the reminders!
have you read Life of Pi? or secret life of Bees? or the Kite Runner? those are older, but i haven't had time to read in so long, those are some of the more recent ones i have read! haha
i actually have been reading sophie kinsella when i have time...the shopoholic lady...i loved "can you keep a secret" but that may be because i read it all through my pregnancy with A, and finished it when i was in the hospital with her...so its kind of a nice association
