So... I am 16 weeks along, and my SO and I cannot even THINK of a girl's name. We have a boys name, Cason, and neither of us even remotely agree on girls. In other words, he doesn't suggest girls' names, and vetoes everything I throw out.
We have a few rules, like, no names of exes, something relatively unique (his last name is Smith, so Jackson is out. I don't want my kid to be one of 100+ Jackson Smith's), but not too crazy (read: made-up, incredibly ethnic, etc.). He doesn't like ANY name that ends in S, or begins with S, because he doesn't like the double-S sound. And something that is either individual to the child or if it does happen to be named after someone it at least be someone we respect/admire (so Edison, after Thomas Edison, is acceptable, but Britney, like Britney Spears, is not). I know these are crazy picky demands, but hey, a name is forever right???
I tend to like old-fashioned names like Ruby or Lucie, or unique/literary names like Regan (King Lear) or Harper (Harper Lee). All vetoed by dear SO. So, could ANYONE throw out some ideas? Or even places to look? The only name he has liked has been Addison, but with how popular that name has become (Thanks Grey's Anatomy!) I don't like Addison Smith together.
Re: Girls name
If he likes Addison, how about:
Adele
Adelaide
Adeline
Vivian
Lillian
Anna
Claire
You could also look at your family trees and see if you can find any lovely names in your family history
DD is Noelle Claire and we get a lot of positive feedback on the uniqueness (is that a word) on her first name. Some of my other girl favorites:
Adriana (call her Adri)
Myla
Nora
Elise
Maeve (for a middle name maybe)
