Birth Announcements Anyone?

Is anybody doing Birth announcements for tier LO? If so where are you getting them from? I dont think it would be to late even though my LO was born almost 2 months ago but spent a month in the NICU.

Yup.  We are doing a "at birth" and "when I came home" pic on them I think.  We are sending them when we send out thank you cards for everyone who sent us stuff.

We did them when she was born. Addressing them gave me something to do in the hospital

We registered at Target and got a giftcard for $20 in Shutterfly announcements for registering.

We're doing "homecoming announcements" (uh, when we actually get home) since it's been 3 months since they've been born lol. A friend of mine is going to design them for us.

Yes! I made them about a month ago (when he was two months old) - on Shutterfly on a whim, while pumping, at 5 in the morning. When I looked at them the next day I was pretty impressed with my sleepy productivity and used a coupon they'd sent in the mail (I think all the companies get to attack your personal info once you have a baby). So their marketing worked. I'm trying to remember where I saw an article on birth announcements for preemies recently..................actually, think it's in the book Preemies. They have a section talking about how we should all send them when we feel safe and comfortable. Good book!

H is making them.  So, I'm not even sure what they look like yet.  I just gave him some specs about what I wanted and set him to work.

I did the same thing. I used pictures that we had taken while she was in the NICU but sent them when she came home. I included her birth stats and her homecoming stats so people could see how she had grown. The pictures were somewhere in the middle-she was about 3 lbs then.

I like the idea of using NICU stats - mine were just pretty straight up, hey, I'm three lbs, 11 oz, but not in this picture! also you can't see the cords stuck to my face because of the angle! oh yeah, and I was long.

Yes we did them after he came home. I had pics done when he came home and used that. I included the standard birth stats, then under it had a line that said "welcomed home with joy on {date}". I got them from tinyprints and they came out really great.

I LOVE what you put on your announcements.  It is so very sweet!

I found some really cute ones on Minted .com.  I didn't get them out until she was 4 months actual.  I felt a little silly since everyone knew she was born months before but I figured I didn't get to do so many of the normal mom things that I was going to do this.

We received TONS of comments on how cool they were. 

You pay for the image to be created you then take the digital file to costco or walgreens to have them printed.  At Costco 50 of them cost me $15
