Hello ladies,
I have been stalking the boards on and off for almost a year now, I have learned a lot from you ladies, so thank you all. The reason I am posting is because I am conflicted about taking a test. I will have to write a small essay to explain everything, so please bear with me.
Last August we decided to start trying for a baby, I knew it would take a bit for the bc to get out of my system since I have been on the Depo shot or a pill form of it for about 10-11 years (I can't take any other bc since I had a blood clot at 21) so I of course felt phantom systems all the time because I wanted to be pregnant. In March of this year I was hit by a truck while walking to work, I am very lucky overall, no major damage, I have some headache, dizziness (which causes nausea) and short term memory loss issues and some backaches but I am up and walking around. So since the accident I have stopped paying attention to all baby making things, I don't even track my period anymore. But in May I realized that my period was taking a bit to get there (wasn't sure how long) and on the 27th I "started" around 7pm it seemed the normal flow the next morning, but by afternoon it was gone, my periods are usually pretty short 3-4 days, I had a little cramping but not as bad as usual, but thats not really that unusal either, sometimes my cramps are light but usually they are murderous. So anyways a few days later I was curious because it's never been that short, so I took a hpt and it was negative. So I was like oh ok, it was just a weird one. now it's been a month since my wierd period, I usually have some discharge around ovulation time that hasn't happened (I've been waiting) and all of last week I was extremely tired (still am) and the past 5 days I have been nauseous (no puking), usually in the late afternoons and today on and off so far. Last night I laid down at about 9 because of the nausea and slept until 8:30 this morning and am still super tired. Anyways I am not sure if maybe I'm just getting sick with something or if it's just more issues from the accident or if it could be that I am pregnant. So I wanted to get some opinions on if I should test or not, especially since the last one was negative (like all the many before, which is soo disappointing) So yeah I think that about sums it up, any thoughts would be helpful.
Re: Need advice- to test or not to test
How long were your periods up to the accident? How many cycles did you have between the accident and now?
If you get to CD 60 and still have not had a period then call your DR> Until then maybe test once a week. Good luck

I didn't read your post because it's just too long, so I'm going to guess (based on the title) that you're asking if you should POAS. Generally the consensus here is, POAS every week until either AF shows, or you go 60 days without AF. HTH.

I am very sorry to hear about your accident. I am sure that was a very difficult experience. I am glad to hear that you are ok.
As for testing. If you think you are pregnant you should test. I am sure, since you have been lurking, you have seen us give this advice out to others... test with HPTs once a week until you get your period, a + HPT or hit 60 days (total) with no period, then call your doctor.
The accident may or may not have had something to do with your weird period. Or, maybe you just had a light one. My period tends to be different through out the year. Sometimes I get a wicked heavy one and sometimes I get super light ones.
Lots of luck to you!

Thanks! My cycles were usually 30-32 days, I have had 3 (if you include May's) since the accident, I haven't gotten anything for June yet. I think today is day 32.
Wow, you have had a rough road! I'm sorry about your accident. If it were me, I would test. I would certainly put it in perspective (meaning mentally preparing for a BFN). That way you'd know if you were "late" for a truck related reason, a pg related reason, or some other reason. Like PP said, without charting its of course difficult to tell if you Od late or have a late period. Plus, if you haven't noticed any CM this cycle maybe this one is anovulatory? GL to you, and I hope you get a BFP soon.
