Hey,
I don't post here very often but I have a few questions. I took my daughter(almost 3) to a pediatric dentist today. I was informed that she has 5 cavities, 4 of them on her molars. The dentist recommended fillings for four of them and possibly a cap for the worst one. This would be done under IV sedation.
I am completely freaking out. I brush my daughter's teeth regularly and the dentist even said that she didn't have build up on her teeth. I am scared of her being put under too.
I'm thinking of looking for a second opinion. Does anyone have a pediatric dentist they recommend(I live near The Woodlands but will travel for someone good)? Also, have you experienced anything like this? I am just so worried and feel like a horrible mom .
Thanks..
Re: Dentist help
My pediatrician referred us to Dr. Wheeler in Sterling Ridge when my son fell in the tub and chipped his front teeth. I liked him and he seemed pretty laid back, but we've only been the one time.
I see Dr. Christopher on Longmire Rd in Conroe, and he is definitely of the "don't do dental work unless absolutely necessary" mindset. I have a couple of soft spots he's been eyeing for the past 2yrs and he still says they don't need fillings yet. I'm not sure what age he starts seeing patients but he'd be worth a try.
