So excited that DD took her first steps yesterday. I can not believe it! She is so proud and so am I! However, we had such a sleepless night last night. Took forever to get DD to bed, and I'm usually ok with CIO but I just felt like she was overwhelmed with the milestone. She usually sttn until 6 or so, well after taking an hour to settle into bed, she was up at midnight and 2 and then 6. I did nurse her at 6 and she went back until almost 9 (too bad I couldn't!). Do I attribute this to the milestone? Am I risking reinforcing poor sleeping habits by responding to her during this time? She fell right to sleep each time I picked her up but was stubborn and hard to put back down w/o fussing. I don't want to regress but I feel like she is going through so much I want to be there for her.
Re: DD took first steps and milestone question...
I don't have advice on this, but it's certainly possible that the excitement of the milestone could be keeping her up. Will just took his first steps a week ago today and since then has been waking up before 6am - instead of AT 7am, which he had been doing previously. But I'm not sure if it's the pseudo-walking or the fact that he is working on 3 of his top teeth right now (one of which poked through this morning)!
I'm hoping this is a phase and he'll go back to the 7am wake up. I miss that so much!!
