. This was my first IUI cycle, and today is CD 2. My flow is insanely heavy. I'm having to use super tampons and a pad, because I am going through the super tampons in 2 hours or less. When I got up this morning I had a clot come out that was the length and width of a freaking chicken egg. I'm not gonna lie, it really freaked me out. So I emailed my doctor's office, and I'm going in Wednesday to have an ultrasound and some blood work done to figure out what the fvck is going on. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? It's really annoying.

Re: What is wrong with my body?? (TMI)
Wow. That is some heavy bleeding. I am sorry to hear that your first IUI didn't work. I hope that you can get some answers from the doctor this week.
As for your question, yes. I have had some pretty insane periods. They don't happen all the time, but every so often I get a doozy. It's almost like my body was doing some spring cleaning or something. They are usually accompanied by really severe cramps and flu symptoms.
Again, I hope you feel better soon and I hope you get some answers!!
Thanks! I've had some really heavy periods before, but this one definitely takes the cake. I've never seen clots like this before. It kinda worries me that my doctor's office was concerned enough to get me in right away. They wanted me to come today, but I got back to them too late.
IVF #1 with ICSI - ER 1/20 (16R, 12M, 10F), ET 1/23 (1-10 cell and 1-8cell transferred), BFP on 1/31 Beta #1 on 2/3 = 68, Beta #2 on 2/6 = 261 EDD 10/12/12
Yes, I would be concerned if this were me as well. Hopefully everything will be ok, and your body is just cleaning out or something.
I also used to have insane periods. Clots and all, and they lasted 8-10 days. It is one of the main reasons I went on BCP to begin with.
Before becoming PG with DS and after coming off the BCP, my periods were pretty normal. After pregnancy, however, they have been so irregular. Some are light and only 2-3 days. Others go on for 5-7 days and are heavy with big clots. I had the same concerns and my midwife assured me that the hormones are still rebalancing, etc. She also said it's completely normal to have heavy periods after any kind of procedures down yonder (I don't know if an IUI would fall under this category, though).
Did you take any hormones, etc. to trigger for your IUI? (if it's in your siggy, sorry I didn't take a close look). If so, your body could be acting a bit wonky from the hormones. If not, maybe it's just a side effect of the IUI.
I think it's a good thing you are seeing your doctor.
Yeah, I used Follistim, and an hCG trigger. I'm glad you said that, for some reason I didn't even think of that. Hopefully that's all it is.
We're going to try IUI again, but we're taking a break. We plan on doing IUI #2 in September.
