Might be moving to Columbus. Need some help!

edited July 2021 in Ohio Babies

My family may be relocating to Columbus, and soon! My husband would be working in the New Albany area and we'd like to stay near there. (We don't want him to have more than a 20-25 minute commute).

We have 3 children and would like to live in a nice school district. I stay at home with the kids, and I don't want to be too far from shopping, doctors, parks, etc. If that's possible. Where we live now I have to drive 15 minutes to get to Kroger. Ugh. So, if anyone can offer some advice, we'd really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance:)

  • New Albany is a great area with awesome schools and shopping everywhere.

  • I have to agree that New Albany is a beautiful place to live, though taxes are a little steep, but you get what you pay for! Westerville is also nice, as long as you live in the northern part of town. I went to college there, so we have always lived in the area.

  • My husband is from Gahanna and I absolutely ADORE that town. He has a lot of great memories growing up there.

  • We LOVE Westerville!! It's very close to shopping and anything you'd need, great family area, and close New Albany. We just moved here in February, if you need anything: we're here! :)

  • New Albany is great, but so is some of Gahanna and Westerville that bump up against it. I think there are also parts of Gahanna that are New Albany schools. Shopping is plentiful and easily accessed all over Columbus so you don't have to worry about that. I live on the northwest side of town, and there are 2 Krogers and a Giant Eagle within two miles of my house!

  • I went to school in New Albany:)

Very nice area, with great schools. It is close, but not as close as I wanted to be! We chose Hilliard, REALLY good schools & I never really leave a 5 mile radius!! (it's too far from NA for your DH's work though) Anyway, I don't think you'd be disappointed in New Albany, and it's continually growing. If I had to pick anywhere else to live, NA would definitely be my next choice.
