I've been searching around unsuccessfully for the past few months for someone to watch my little guy full time once I return to work. Does anyone have any recommendations of folks in the Hyde Park, Mt Lookout, Oakley area?
What center do you use downtown? We are considering downtown since my DH and I both work downtown and won't have to stress about the traffic on the way home to pick up.
I use the Childtime center on Walnut. It has been really great because I nurse DD at lunch (she's one building from my office) and it is very convenient for drop off/pick up.
I think that the infant 1 class is excellent, but am considering other options for when my dd is older.
Thanks for the info. Has your DD been going to Childtime since you returned to work?
I used to work in that building and it always seemed like there weren't many kids there. I never really looked inside specifically and maybe I was only walking by in the morning and evening when the kids were gone but it seemed kind of empty.
How many kids are in the infant 1 class? Any more info you can provide would be great!
I am glad you like it. That is the same place we are considering. I work in that building and plan on nursing so it would be very convenient. We know a few others who have used them for the first few months back to work.
Right now there are 7 babies in the infant 1 class. I think they can have up to 8? For the longest time there were only 4 babies in the class and one baby was part time. The infant 1 teacher is excellent and has been there for over 18 years and I really like her. She really cares for the babies!
I really wanted to be dedicated to nursing for the first year for dd and having the ability to nurse at lunch has made it possible. When I have #2, I am going to do the same again even if DD is going somewhere else for preschool. I think the main reason to send DD somewhere else is that I don't get the feeling that the center is very educational - it is more of just daycare if you know what I mean.

I looked for something for awhile and didn't have much luck. I ended up taking my dd to a center downtown.
