A NICU 'Funny'

This happened about a week ago, I just thought of it and figured some of you might get a little chuckle out of the stupidity (hence, the ' ' around Funny).

So they did a couple cranial ultrasounds on V when she was really sick and on a vent with high oxygen (we are talking 60+%). Usually they do these scans really early in the am, between 12-5am, and most of the time the techs are familiar with the NICU....apparently not this day.

The tech is trying to u/s her head but, I guess, her vent tube was getting in her way (damn thing) so she asked the nurse if they could put her on nasal cannilus to do the scan.  The nurse replies 'ABSOLUTELY NOT!' so then the tech asks 'can you get the Neo and ask him/her?'  To which the nurse replies 'uhhhhhh no this tube is not coming out of her' so the tech decides it would be best to have someone else do it.

Holy sh*tballs, someone needs to rethink her career choice!!!!  

This got a huge laugh during rounds the next morning.
