What nn would you think of for...

We are going to name our little girl Annika (Ahn-ik-ah). If you were to shorten it what nn do you think of first?

I'm hoping for Ani (Ahn-ee) or Oni but I'm dreading that people might call her Annie.

I love Ani! If you were to introduce me to her as Annika (Ahn-ik-ah) I would automatically want to call her Ani.

I grew up with a Leanyka (pronounced similarly) and we called her Ani (ah-nee) not Annie.

My friend's niece is Annika and they call her Nikka for short, it's super cute!!

I looooooooooooooove the name Annika. It was always my dream name but we decided on Evelyn for DD1 - it just fit her more

My husband loves the name Nicole so he could call her Nikki (I'm not a fan though) but if we use Annika for a future DD we'll call her Nik for short!

My first thought was Annie... but think Ani (Awh-nee) is cute, and others would pick up on it quick.

I have a friend named Anika and she goes by her full name. I would never think to just shorten someone's name with out them introducing themselves as the nn, so it has never crossed my mind to call her anything but Anika. I don't think all names need to have a nn.
