1. I'd have to say just okay. I was active each day by taking the dog on a walk, but I only got in more than 2 miles maybe 3x this week. And they were slow walks, because she stops to sniff everything. I did yoga on Wednesday and got 3 miles in today. Next week I'm going to get on the elliptical at least once or twice and try to increase the distance I'm walking to make it more of a workout and less of a stroll.
2. If you are considering starting to run or jog, go to a specialty store like The Blue Mile and get fitted for the right shoe. Someone in the store will watch you run, identify where you exert the most force on your foot, and recommend the best shoe for you. I haven't had any injuries since I did this years ago and it's mainly because I have the right shoes in the right size.
Gear tip - Road Runner Sports is running a deal through 7/1 where you get $25 off $150, $15 off 125, or $10 off $100. Something like that. Add in free shipping and an additional 6.5% Ebates cash back, and it's a pretty good deal. My shoes happened to be on sale, so I ended up with two new pairs and a pair of socks for $140 (before my Ebates cash back). WOOT!
1. meh. i did try to take more walks with audrey. we try to walk to the park each day it's nice.
2. the advice i need to take for myself is to get up and do something active....even when you (read: i) don't feel like it. in the end....it always makes you feel better once you're done. and you'll be glad you did it.
on a sidenote: has anyone watched extreme makeover: weight loss edition? i am in love with that trainer chris powell. i'd love for him to motivate me through my post partum weight loss journey. i'm just afraid you have to weigh 600 pounds to even be considered for the show.
1. How did you do this week? Alright. Ran 3 times - 4 miles, 4 miles, and 3 miles. Plus two Pilates classes and two core training classes.
2. Share a fitness tip with the group - it can be anything. Make time for exercise and don't make excuses. Put time for exercise on your calendar if you have to.

2. the advice that I want to take is to do activites that I enjoy, fitness aside. wish i had more time to do so!
I think you're doing great juggling a busy job, two little kids, and a husband and home. Don't beat yourself up about not being as active as you want - something's gotta give! Do you get a lunch break? Even if you could get outside and walk for 15 minutes and listen to your music, it would be enough to feel like you're being active, and there would be no pressure if you didn't get to it in the evening.
Sorry guys I had a busy weekend. I did pretty good last week. I got in 5 days of exercise with strength training, yoga, and over 10 miles of jogging. No good fitness tips are coming to mind...
