I'm sorry... this is kind of all over the place...Let me know if it doesn't make sense... lol
I hate to sound like one of those girls that doesn't know anything, but just bear with me...
This is our first month TTC and I was pretty sure we missed the window. I was just timing using calenders and I knew when I was fertile (not by temping or anything) I have Middelschmerz, which is painful ovulation, so I can usually guess. I'm going to look into tempting this next month. Anyway, since I think we didn't do the deed (Not sure of the acronym for baby making sex? BSM?? I dunno...lol) the right time this month (just didn't happen that week...) So I was thinking it was going to be a miracle if I ended up pregnant this month. Well, I was three days late. I'm never late. Early sometimes, yes, but never late. I went to the store and got a hpt to take this morning with fmu and then woke up this morning cramping really bad and AF had started. My whole thing is that I have been cramping for the last week and wondered if it was implantation cramping. I've been reading a lot (too much) the last few weeks and now I'm wondering if it was a chemical pregnancy. Since I didn't take a hpt and don't know if I was pregnant, I guess I'll never be able to tell, but I was pretty upset this morning, not just because I started, but because I was late and it's hard not to wonder if something went wrong. I know it's past now and I can just try next month, but I was wondering if someone might be able to tell me anything?
Re: Should I worry?
No, you should not worry.
-You'll quickly learn to never use the word "never" when you begin TTC. Just because you've never been late before doesn't mean you'll never be late. Each month is a new month...you can O a day or three later/earlier each month which will make your period later/earlier.
-Calendars and O pain are not accurate ways of determining O. Temping (and using OPks and checking CM) are much better.
-We use the word sex.

Was this your first month off of birth control? If so, your body is probably just trying to find its normal cycle length.
When I was on BCP my cycles were 28 days, but now that I'm off, they have been consistently 25 day cycles. When I got my first period off of BCP and my cycle was shorter than I expected (25 days as opposed to 28 days) I had similar concerns to what you are having. I was wondering "why am I 3 days early?". However, once my cycles regularly started after 25 days I realized that was just my body's natural time-frame without BCP.
