I stopped BC in May after having been on it for about 16 years. I had a regular period then, and my most recent period was really weird. I spotted for one day, nothing the next, spotted the third, had one light/regular flow day, and that was that. I always thought that CD1 was the first day of regular flow (not spotting), but for me that was only 1 day- and periods are supposed to be about 5 days. So, I am not sure if I should include the spotting day as CD1, or what... Any thoughts?
I probably just need to wait for my body to regulate itself after being controlled by synthetic hormones for so long- but I don't want to do that!
Re: CD1 question...
CD 1= first day of flow requiring a pad/tampon. Periods don't have to be 5 days. They can be shorter (3ish) or longer (maybe 6-7)
Give yourself a few more months (maybe longer) to regulate again
Yeah, I figured that I would just have to wait for my body to regulate itself...

Hi there! I've been off BC for exactly one year! My periods started out the same...about 3-5 days of Medium to Light flow, with a day of spotting in there. No, about 12 months later, my last period was ONE day of LIGHT flow, with maybe two days of spotting max. If anyone knows why, let me know. But my doctor assured me this is normal for me, and not to worry. I thought my body was all regulated and what not after a few cycles, I was ovulating, all was well. I mean, if everything is fine, I'm certainly not going to complain about a shorter period!
GL to you!
