Trying to Get Pregnant

Prenatals

If you are taking prenatals, when did you start?  Also, which are you taking?  I just started today (2nd cycle TTC) using the Target gummies and think I will like them.

February/March '17: Menopur + HCG + IUI = BFN
April '17: Menopur + HCG + TI (due to too many mature follicles) = BFN
May '17: Took off due to cysts

Re: Prenatals

  • I started about 3 months prior to trying, around February.  I got a prescription for Prenexa, but if I take it every single day it gives me tummy troubles.  So I alternate with NatureMade.  I really like them both!
Off BCP August 2010, NFP to avoid. Start TTC May 2011. TTA December 2011 - May 2012 doctor's orders :( TTC July 2012-January 2013. Currently pursuing Napro Technology. January 2013: Napro nurse is starting me on Vitex 3 DPO and Naproxen 8 DPO until my first appointment with the doctor. Based on my charts, they highly suspect endometriosis. image

I Just started taking them last week, after I had my IUD removed.  I also have the target gummies, but Ive only eaten 4, and I dont really like them they are too chewy for me and have that undertone of vitamin taste.  I bought them because I didn't know when my Dr. was going to prescribe me prenatals, but when I went last week he gave me PreferaOB +DHA. My friend that works for an OBGYN gave me a sample of Prexa, but as of now im taking the Prefera due to the fact that I have a prescription for it.

  • I've been taking the Vitafusion gummies.  I like them so far.  No tummy troubles.  I started taking them about a month ago and H and I are going to start trying at the end of August.

If anyone sees this I do have a question though - I look at the ingredient list and it has a LOT less stuff in it than my normal daily multi-vitamin.  Is it supposed to be a supplement?  It has no iron in it, do you switch when you get pregnant or just add an iron supplement?  *threadjack over*

I supplement with Iron. When taking iron it is best taken with a glass of orange juice to help your body absorb them. FYI

  • I started at the beginning of April. I also take the target gummies but am thinking of adding B6 and a dha supplement.

  • Regarding iron, my understanding is that you need it less pregnant than you do when you're menstruating b/c you're not losing blood.  You'll still need it, of course, but I think you don't need as much as you would ordinarily.

  • I think I started prenatals back in November 2010, off birth control January 2011, planning to start TTC July 2011 :)

I'm taking the Nature Made ones... they're pretty small pills which is good for me.
