    I just posted the same thing the other day!!!!  Nothing is working to stop it except making her laugh!!!  It's impossible to laugh and whine at the same time!!!!!

    Absolutely positively and 100% consistently ignore it! Give lots of praise when they use a normal voice i.e. "thank you for asking nicely" When it is impossible to ignore it explain that you cannot understand a whiny voice and that if they would like you to respond they'll need to use a normal nice voice. I watched my sister do it with her children who are 16 and 21 now and I'm doing the same with my two little ones now. Not that they never whine but I do notice that most of my friends little ones do it a lot more than mine do. I'm thankful I had a good role model when I was so young. I also don't respond to grunts. I've taught my boys to use some basic sign language and its either say it or sign it but grunting or whining will get you nowhere.
