cramping with o

does anyone find they get cramping a couple days before o and then on the day of or the day before o? I have only been off bcp for two cycles before this one but my last cycle i hav cramping on a friday with wcm and VERY slight spotting. I thought I would have ovulated that day but i had a neg opk and then the following tuesday I had tons more cramping with a positive opk. I'm trying to see if it's common to cramp twice around time of o or if my cycle is maybe still messed up from bc.

It could be ovulation cramping (very common) or it could be random cramping with no know cause. Ovulation cramping can be due to the increased size of your follicles (basically eggs) as they get ready to release/actually release from your ovary or from the fluctuating hormones women experience throughout your cycle. Mid-cycle or ovulation spotting is also normal. 

And just so you know, OPK's are not 100% accurate. You can O anywhere from 12-36 hours after a + OPK or not ovulate at all after a + OPK.

But anyway, yes what you're experiencing is normal.

Thank you! It seems like I have cramps pretty often throughout my cycle that just confound me. Wish it where a little more simple!

This past month was my second cycle off of BCP.  I got O cramping as well...it was at the time I thought AF was due (not charting YET)...and they definitely felt like AF cramps.  Now looking back I am pretty sure they are O cramps.  My cycle this month was 41 days...sucks!  I am hoping my body gets regulated sooner rather than later..GL!

I get O cramps and have gotten them twice.. sometimes a couple days apart so it is definitly possible. I wouldnt stress too much about it!
